Crafting

How crafting works in Corals, end to end: raise a fairy, learn a life skill, find a blueprint, gather the materials and play the workshop mini-game to make bombs, tools, gear and food.

Crafting in Corals is a chain. Every step unlocks the next one, and your fairy sits at the heart of it. The four workshops are in the game today. Live

The chain in one picture

  1. A fairy. It goes in the first slot of every workshop and must have stamina left. It also earns you Fairy Coins, the currency blueprints ask for. See Fairies.
  2. A gathering skill. Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing or Salvage, from a 1,000 gold book. See Life skills and gathering.
  3. A crafting guide. Each workshop has its own skill, unlocked by a guide that also gives you your first tool.
  4. A blueprint. Monsters drop sealed blueprints; open one to reveal a recipe. See Blueprints.
  5. The materials. Logs, ores, fish, monster parts… gathered, looted or exchanged.
  6. The workshop. Put everything in the slots and play the mini-game. See Workshops and mini-games.

Learning the crafting skills

The level 1 guides cost 1,000 gold at the grocers Jimberry (Argent City, 2232, 2729) and Amos (Shaitan City, 840, 3585). Each one also gives you a level 1 tool.

A level N guide needs your crafting skill at exactly level N − 1. Levels 2 to 7 come from the Fairy Merchant (Fairy Coins, then Elven Signets) and some from the Chaos Administrator. In development

What decides success

For the Crafting, Foundry and Cooking workshops, the game computes a success value:

3 × your skill level (up to the blueprint level) + 5 × tool level + 100 − 10 × (product level ÷ 10)

It is compared with a roll from 1 to 100. A higher skill and a better tool help; high-level products are harder. The mini-game adds its own condition on top (see Workshops and mini-games).

What every attempt costs

Success or failure:

  • The materials and the Fairy Coins are used up.
  • The blueprint loses one use.
  • The tool loses durability (50 × tool level).
  • The tool gains experience: the blueprint level on a success, 1 on a failure. It levels up at level² × 100 experience.

Before you start

  • A fairy with stamina, placed in slot 1.
  • One free bag slot.
  • A tool whose level is at most 3 × your fairy's matching skill + 1 (fairy skills: Pet Manufacturing, Pet Crafting, Pet Analyze, Pet Cooking).
  • Your crafting skill at least as high as the blueprint level.
